The weather has gradually been getting warmer, the snow has started melting and the birds are chirping. You know what that means… Spring is in the air!
If you’ve been to the mall recently you’ll notice the stores have already started putting out their spring/summer collections. I’ve missed shopping for bright prints, cute and trendy dresses, wedges shoes….the list goes on. Most importantly I have missed laying outside by the pool, relaxing with a drink and reading a book. Lounging by the pool must be done in style, otherwise what’s the point?
This year I’m about retro swimwear options because I believe deep down we all want to look like Hollywood bombshells from the 50’s. Here are some of my favourite looks for 2011 swimwear.
Adorable! This one piece vintage-inspired swimsuit can be found at one of my favourite sites Mod Cloth.com
This is the bikini I just bought from J Crew.com PRO TIP: The grommet or hipster shaped bottoms are extremely flattering. They offer a lot of coverage if you’re not super proud of your backside without making you look like a granny.
This Betsey Johnson bikini is so girlie, I love it! The colour wouldn’t work well with my skin tone but I love the frills on the top and around the bottoms. It’s cute and sweet but also very sexy. You can find it at Nordstroms.com
If you’re on a budget Old Navy usually has some cute options. This black bandeau top is simple but a great steal at only $16.50, you can find it at Old Navy.com
This D&G bikini isn’t very retro in it’s shape but I think the cherries give it a retro vibe. You can pre-order it now from Saks Fifth Avenue here
What do you think of these retro styles? I hope I got you excited for spring and summer. Bring on the lounge chairs and cocktails!
