Back in December after I *gasp* turned 25 I posted a Ten Before Thirty list. In a nut shell, 10 things I want to accomplish before my 30th birthday.
Not surprisingly I haven’t gotten around to working on #4 GET A HOT BODY until now. Procrastination is one of my most favourite activities, you see. Getting a hot body took a backseat to just about everything else I could possibly do with my day….Watching TV shows on Netflix, reading my favourite blogs ( Danny and Gwyneth is a great one), watching movies, napping, eating….You get the idea.
So, what inspired me to work out? Everyone around me! My husband has decided he wants to get back into top shape, my anemic coworker who is hitting forty works out, and my sister in law has decided she wants to get a hot body as well. She even started a new blog to track her progress —– The Refresh Project —- and was brave enough to post pictures of herself “before” her transformation. Fellas, you may want to click on that link, she’s a hot one! Taking her lead I’ll post a picture from my vacation in Mexico as my unofficial “before” photo.
As you can see I do not need to lose weight – some people even say I could stand to gain a few pounds (Not cool, btw) – but I do need to tone up. Right now I’m just a tall, skinny chick when I want to be a tall, hot-bodied chick. I plan to work on toning my legs, arms and butt….and possibly work on getting some abs.
Operation: Get Fit began tonight and it was a moderate success. I am attempting to complete the Couch to 5K program so I did a combination of running and walking for a total of 40 minutes. I pushed myself really hard and nearly threw up afterwards which my husband assures me is a sign I was running at exactly the right pace. There were a few other runners on the trail and I seriously wanted to flip them off as they breezed by me without even breaking a sweat. You know how some people get really angry if they drink too much and become complete assholes? I’m like that whilst running. I hate myself, I hate you, I hate everything. Couch to 5K will most likely be a roaring success!
Wish me luck.
