Hello everyone, long time no blog! I apologize for not updating as often as I should, but things have been pretty crazy around here.
I’m no longer unemployed! The company that laid me off hired me back for another position. Pretty crazy, right? Even though I’m not thrilled with what I’m doing, it is allowing me to have food, clothing and shelter so I guess I’ll deal with it for now.
I took my GRE and am on my way to applying to graduate school. The test went…ehh… OK. I hadn’t done a standardized test like that before so it was definitely an experience. Interestingly enough there is a Masters of Public Administration program I want to take that doesn’t even require the GRE!
I have been meaning to do a number of posts but in order to catch up I’m going to post some snippets here and not worry about doing full posts because honestly, I don’t have the time : )
I’ve been meaning to share these incredible throw pillows my real estate agent Sara Maddock gave to us after we bought our home. Are they super nerdy and super awesome all at the same time?! For those not in the know, the pillow on the left features the Twitter bird and the pillow on the right has an RSS symbol. Hooray for internet humour! I am on twitter enough that having the symbol on my bed isn’t all that strange to me. If you’re not already following me on Twitter, check me out at @amberherself.
I went home to Canada in September for my niece Ellie’s first birthday. Look at this cake! It’d say it’s much more impressive than my wedding cake.
My sister has a thing for incredible cakes. This is what my other niece Sophie enjoyed on her 3rd birthday.
We also recently painted our family room “Pale Smoke” by Benjamin Moore, updated the curtain rod and hung up the curtain panels I bought at IKEA ages ago. Check it out before – the walls are white in the picture below and the curtains $10 cheapies from Target.
In this “after” picture the wall colour doesn’t really show up, so you’ll have to take my word for it that the new blue-gray colour is a HUGE improvement. I’m also really into our new curtain rod from Bed, Bath and Beyond. God, I sound like such a dork. My 19 year old self would be so disappointed.
That’s all I really have to update you on at this moment, I wish there was more but working 50 hours per week isn’t conducive to blogging. Sigh.
