If I was actually in the military, running an operation where I’d have to get fit, I’d easily be subjected to harassment from my superiors. I’d imagine it’d go something like this: “You Maggot! You call this an operation to get fit?! You’re lazy! No good! You’d rather watch TV than do anything else, maggot! I order you to do 5 push-ups!”
In my defense, I haven’t been exercising as much as I’d like to because I’ve been working 50+ hours per week. I come home too tired to do anything, let alone subject myself to Jillian Michaels and her scary biceps telling me to suck it up and push through the pain. In an effort to get my butt in gear I bought a one month gym membership from living social but have yet to cash it in. I’ll probably wait until the very last day until it expires to sign up. Classic!
Anyways, I really wanted to get moving this weekend so my husband and I went on a 7.5 mile hike at our favourite park – Pinckney State Park! It’s only 30 minutes from our house and offers miles and miles of hiking trails. The weather was absolutely perfect today – sun shining and cool enough that we didn’t want to pass out after 15 minutes. Plus, no mosquitoes! Holy crap I can’t tell you what a difference hiking in the fall makes. Usually I get home exhausted, sweaty and with mosquito bites in *the* most uncomfortable of places. I felt so great after our hike today I’m hoping to go a couple more times before the weather gets too cold.
